DESCRIPTION
Unusual and rare majolica soup tureen in the form of a boars’ head and based on others made in the 19th and early 20th centuries.  Made in Portugal in the mid-20th century and retailed through Casa Pupo, Pimlico Road, London.  Makers marks and original retailers’ labels to base.
 
DIMENSIONS – The platter measures 40cm long
WEIGHT – 4.8Kgs
 
CONDITION
The head is in excellent condition with no visible chips or cracks.  The platter has a mark on the top that appears to be a manufacturing fault and a small, old chip to the base - please look very closely at the pictures as they form part of the description.
